The Opportunity

This is a newly created position, giving you the opportunity to make a tangible impact in bringing Bactolife’s innovative products to the functional ingredient market in APAC.
Background
Bactolife is a leader in metabolite neutralization for maintaining gastrointestinal health. By proactively supporting gut health, Binding Proteins offer a food-based approach that may complement efforts to reduce antibiotic use, helping address antimicrobial resistance as a critical global health challenge. Our Binding Protein ingredients can be formulated into dietary supplements, beverages, foods, medical nutrition and infant formulas.
Bactolife is launching its first products during 2026 with the US as the first market but the ambition is global expansion, including solutions for Low Middle Income Countries.

The purpose of the Business Development senior manager role is to build and scale a strong partner ecosystem while positioning Binding Proteins as a new category in gut health across the APAC region.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and establish strategic partnerships and commercial collaborations with leading companies across the dietary supplement, functional food, and medical food sectors in APAC
Support the development and execution of market entry strategies for Bactolife’s ingredients in priority APAC markets
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to identify high-value business opportunities
Build and manage long-term relationships with key partners, distributors, and industry stakeholders across the region
Lead and support commercial discussions, negotiations, and partnership agreements with prospective partners
Collaborate closely with Bactolife’s scientific, regulatory, and application development teams in Denmark to align partner needs with product opportunities
Develop business cases and commercial models to support partnership development and regional growth initiatives
Represent Bactolife at industry conferences, trade shows, and scientific events related to gut health, ingredients, and nutrition
Partner with the central marketing team to adapt and localize global marketing strategies, campaigns, and materials for APAC markets
Support regional category development and education around Binding Proteins, in collaboration with marketing and scientific teams in Denmark
Profile
Experience & Expertise
8+ years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, or strategic partnerships
Experience in healthcare, dietary supplements, functional foods, food ingredients, or biosolutions industries
Strong understanding of B2B2C commercial models and ingredient-driven innovation ecosystems
Solid knowledge of the APAC region and its key markets such as Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and Australia
Proven track record of identifying growth opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, and closing commercial deals
Ability to translate scientific innovation into clear and compelling commercial value propositions
Excellent English communication and negotiation skills
MSc or MBA preferred, ideally combining technical and commercial expertise
